The Brooklyn Center Community Schools (BCCS) District is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our teams at Insight Online and Early College Academy as an English Language Arts and Intervention Teacher.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Teach high school English Language Arts curriculum, including reading, writing, literature, and language skills, both in-person and online.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to enhance learning and accommodate different learning styles.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and support for improvement.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and progress.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and instructional technology.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to support interdisciplinary learning and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
  • Support students in developing their writing skills through workshops, peer reviews, and individualized feedback.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience teaching high school ELA, with a strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional strategies.
  • Proficiency in using online learning platforms and technology to facilitate remote instruction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and families.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Passion for literature and education, with a desire to inspire and motivate students.

Duty Days: 197 duty days, includes 8 paid holidays!

Qualifications: MN Teaching licensure, 6-12 ELA license and Reading K-12

Pay and Benefits: $50,000/year- $100,100/year, based on education and experience
