Job Overview

The Sanctuary at Brooklyn Center Senior Living is an affordable, friendly senior living community located near the crossroads of I-694, I-94 and Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center. Just down the street from CVS and CUB Foods, The Sanctuary community hosts 158 Assisted Living and Memory Care apartments. Our residents enjoy worry-free living in a warm and friendly community with services to meet their individual needs.

We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our senior living teams. The position will monitor preventative maintenance programs and repair building systems and equipment. The assistant will train other building staff, as needed, on basic troubleshooting of building systems and equipment.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. On-call every third weekend.

• Repairs and maintains physical structure and grounds.
• Repairs items found deficient by maintenance or requested by work orders.
• Changes filters and checks belts on air handling units.
• Checks kitchen equipment.
• Greases, checks belts, and oils on laundry equipment.
• Helps in housekeeping as requested.
• Assists with moving boxes, furniture, and other items.
• Maintains shop in a clean and orderly manner.
• Removes snow from sidewalks and walkways and applies ice melt where required.
• Trims around bushes, trees, and sidewalks.
• Removes debris and downed palm fronds where applicable.
• Keeps grounds safe, neat, and attractive.
• Processes work orders and performs other duties as assigned.
• Assists with turnover of apartments for new residents.

• At least 1 year of experience with mechanical (HVAC), plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s license.

• High school diploma or GED.

An individual’s pay rate within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
