Production Team Lead
Schedule:
2nd Shift, Monday–Friday from 3:30pm–12:00am
- Operate material cycle counts, daily material requisitions, and manage the organizational activities of all packaging materials.
- Ensure accuracy of work order transactions and finished goods inventory.
- Assist Production Supervisor with operational staffing, hiring, new hire orientation, staff training, and production coordination.
- Prioritize production on‑floor presence, consistently providing leadership and support to the production team.
- Implement internal programs for material waste reduction, production yield improvement, incident corrective actions, and problem solving.
- Support new packaging technology implementation, new product development, and other innovations.
- Demonstrate knowledge and commitment to Quality and Food Safety programs, including GMPs, SSOPs, and Adverse Health Policy, ensuring compliance with Peet’s standards and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure product quality by enforcing completion of all required Line Operator Quality Control Point monitoring tasks according to established procedures.
- Enforce fair and consistent application of all Peet’s Coffee policies.
- Assist in developing Job Hazard Analysis for each packaging line.
- Assist in developing Standard Work and SOP requirements for each packaging line.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of safety rules and regulations and hold self and team accountable.
- Support the Safety Coordinator and Production Supervisor to promote a safe work environment.
- Facilitate effective communication between the production team and Quality Assurance, participate in incident investigations, and implement operational corrective and preventive actions.
- Facilitate effective communication between the production team and engineering, coordinating maintenance for all packaging equipment to limit production downtime.
- Train and apply leadership techniques to build an effective team.
- Motivate the team with a strong sense of urgency and make timely, effective decisions.
- Cultivate a culture of ownership, accountability, and recognition.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically, actively listening and collaborating to find solutions.
- Demonstrate a positive, team‑oriented mindset, open to giving and receiving direction to support shared goals.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent with 3–5 years of production experience as a machine technician or in operations leadership.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate production documents and safety manuals.
- Experience with manufacturing processes and system controls.
- Intermediate level math, reading, and writing skills.
- Intermediate level computer skills.
- High degree of personal accountability and strong deadline/time management.
- Excels in a results‑oriented and dynamic environment; flexible and responsive to business needs.
- Preferred: 2 years of formal training in the coffee industry or food manufacturing.
- Previous participation in a Workplace Safety Committee.
- Must work 8‑hour shifts while standing, lifting, bending, and reaching.
- Must be able to work on feet for over 9 straight hours.
- Must perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 30lbs regularly.
- Must be able to lift 80lbs 20% of the shift.
- Must endure constant leaning and bending during shift.
- Must handle or move up to 750‑lb bins on casters.
- Environmental exposures: airborne particles, fumes, high places, moving parts, muscular strain, noise, odors, high temperatures.
