The Taxpayer Services Division of the Property Records and Taxpayer Services Department is seeking a customer-focused professional who is well-suited to a collaborative, professional environment with periods of busy customer activity and steady workflow. As part of a supportive and dedicated team, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality service to the public.
This position is primarily focused on providing in-person service at the customer counter. Responsibilities include assisting customers with a variety of transactions, such as property tax payment collections and the issuance of birth, death, and marriage records. This includes greeting and assisting customers at the service counter, processing mail-in requests, and ensuring accurate and efficient completion of transactions.
The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with the public, provides friendly and respectful service, and is comfortable balancing busy customer service periods with time spent completing other important supporting tasks. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy are essential, along with the ability to remain organized and effective in a public service environment.
In addition to counter service responsibilities, this position supports division operations by completing assigned or self-directed tasks during slower periods, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and a strong team-oriented mindset.
Desirable Experience- Experience providing customer service in a public-facing or similar environment involving direct interaction with the public (government experience is helpful but not required)
- Experience handling payments or transactions, including receiving payments, issuing receipts, and balancing a cash drawer or daily transactions
- Experience performing work requiring accuracy in data entry, transaction processing, or review of information for errors
- Experience using computer systems or web-based applications to enter information, process transactions, or retrieve customer records
Your training and experience will be rated based on the required application material submitted and the top-scoring candidates will be forwarded to the hiring department for further consideration.
Hours / DaysThis is a 40 hour per week position, with work hours scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Additional hours may be required during peak work periods. work schedules and locations are subject to change based on departmental needs and are not guaranteed.
Anticipated Hiring Rate$21.53 - $22.79 Hourly (May be hired at the Taxpayer Services Technician, Senior level depending on qualifications)

Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent. Prior experience with customer service, financial reporting, and database management is preferred.
