Overview

The Chisago Lakes School District is located approximately 35 miles NE of downtown Minneapolis/Saint Paul. It serves 3400 students (PreK-12) across five communities and offers a rich mix of academic, fine arts, and extracurricular programs. The district includes the Chisago Lakes Education Center (CLEC), a Setting IV Special Education Facility supporting students with high behavior, academic, and personal care needs in a Setting IV environment.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who embraces a team-based mindset. Applicants should be open, honest, and direct. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment that is constantly evolving, and they must not take comments or actions personally.

Responsibilities within CLEC include providing specialized support to students with high behavior, academic, and personal care needs in a Setting IV environment. This role involves:

  • Developing and implementing behavior support strategies.
  • Working closely with teachers, parents, and support staff.
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting interventions as needed.
  • Collaborating with the broader district and neighboring districts to provide consistent services.
Qualifications
  • Minnesota "highly qualified" special education professional with all requisite certifications.
  • Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder, emotional/behavioral disorder, and developmental cognitive disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Team collaborative orientation and flexibility.
