The Park Rapids High Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Math Teacher to join our team at Park Rapids High School. This position will teach 7-12 Math, with an emphasis on grades 7/8. The ideal candidate would also have a 7/8 science license or willingness to obtain an Out Of Field permission and teach 7/8 science.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This full-time position involves teaching a variety of math courses, engaging students in critical thinking, and promoting a love for mathematics. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively with parents, and contribute to the overall development of students.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Teach a range of high school math courses, including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Utilize technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and progress.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in mathematics education.
- Supervise and mentor students during extracurricular activities, such as math clubs or competitions.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Valid teaching license or certification in Mathematics for high school level.
- Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and ability to convey complex ideas in an understandable manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience in teaching high school mathematics is preferred.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and software to enhance instruction.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for teaching mathematics.
- Ability to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that fosters student learning and growth.
