** Job Description
** The Office & Student Support Specialist will split time working between TRIO Upward Bound and TRIO Student Support Services to support TRIO’s mission of college access and success for low-income students, first-generation students, and students with disabilities. The Office & Student Support Specialist will serve as a mentor to high school students in Upward Bound that attend Brooklyn Center, Park Center, and Robbinsdale Cooper high schools, as well as North Hennepin Community College students enrolled in TRIO Student Support Services.

The Office & Student Support Specialist will work directly with high school, college, and work-study students; plan and implement workshops and events; and complete administrative duties.
** Salary Range:**$18.15 - $21.26 per hour The AFSCME Compensation Grid range of $18.15 - $24.84 is automatically pulled in the posting. The $18.15 - $21.26 per hour range reflects the top hourly rate for this position.
** Minimum Qualifications
*** Enrolled in at least 6 credits at a college or university. Eligibility will be verified every 6 months. While students may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as student workers, such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year.
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to follow directions and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Ability to effectively support and engage diverse student populations using inclusive and culturally responsive practices.
* Basic computer proficiency (e.g. Microsoft Office, email).
* Demonstrated commitment to equity, access, and social justice.
* Willingness and ability to learn student-facing responsibilities and office technologies, including data systems and communication tools.
** Preferred Qualification
*** Experience working or volunteering with youth and young adults from diverse populations, particularly high school-aged students.
* Previous participation in or experience with TRIO programs or other college access and success initiatives.
* Flexible availability, including the ability to work occasional evenings, Saturdays, and weekend events.
