Job Description

Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Develop, support, and sustain implementation of rigorous scholar learning through differentiated, extended, and enriched (DEE) instruction and opportunities including working collaboratively with classroom teachers to ensure scholars are engaged in challenging learning and discover their unique interests and strengths, facilitating and supporting implementation of English Language Arts and Math academic challenges, supporting development of individual scholar goals and facilitating independent scholar projects, working collaboratively with building leaders to identify, plan, and deliver DEE instruction and opportunities, monitoring the fidelity of DEE implementation;

initiate and sustain collaboration within and across departments, programs, and sites to improve achievement; make appropriate and equitable use of resources and technologies; maintain contact and communication with staff, administrators, scholars, guardians/caregivers and community, state, and federal agencies; collaborate within and across departments, programs, and sites; implement the goals and objectives of the district, school, program, or department for which employed;

provide in-person, synchronous, learning and support when applicable; participate in district, building, and department leadership activities. Ability to be flexible with work hours to meet the needs of the program, building and/or district at the discretion of the supervisor.

Talent Development, Academic Challenge and Gifted Support Specialist (TAG)

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • MN teaching license in appropriate field (K-6 Elementary Education), OR a valid MN teaching license in another field and willing to obtain an Out of Field Permission.*
    • If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2.*

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Classroom teaching experience preferred.
