Job Description

Step into a dynamic special education teaching role within a forward-thinking elementary school dedicated to innovative learning. You'll help students with emotional and behavioral disorders thrive in a supportive, project-based environment, working alongside passionate educators who emphasize STEM through hands-on collaboration. This contract position begins in early September 2026 and continues through June 2027, with a full-time Monday to Friday schedule.

Key

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota Tier 3 or 4 Teaching Certification in Special Education (must submit certification and resume with application)
  • Proven experience working with students who have emotional or behavioral disorders, ideally in a center-based classroom
  • Strong understanding of best practices in differentiated instruction and classroom management
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Dedicated to student growth, inclusivity, and social-emotional development

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Teach and support students primarily in grades K-5 with emotional and behavioral needs within a center-based classroom
  • Foster a safe, encouraging, and structured classroom culture
  • Collaborate closely with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and families to support student progress
  • Utilize school STEM resources and integrate them where possible into lessons to engage and motivate your students
  • Consistently document student growth and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
