About us

For over three decades, Cirtec Medical has been a leading outsourcing partner for complex medical devices. We specialize in providing comprehensive solutions for Class II and III devices, from design and development to precision components and finished device assembly. Our expertise spans neuromodulation, implantable drug delivery, cardiac rhythm management, structural heart, mechanical circulatory support, and minimally invasive surgical systems.

Position Summary

The Sr. Electrical Engineer leads the design, development, verification, and support of implantable pulse generator (IPG) systems used in active implantable medical devices. This role owns electrical architecture from early concept through design verification, supports regulatory submissions, and works closely with systems, mechanical, firmware, test, and quality teams to deliver safe, reliable, and compliant implantable products. They will focus on mixed‑signal, low‑power electronics operating in highly regulated environments, with an emphasis on reliability, patient safety, and manufacturability.

Our dedicated teams prioritize growth, innovation, and collaboration. We actively seek opportunities for improvement to enhance our support for clients. If you embrace a growth mindset and thrive on challenges, you may be a perfect fit for our team!

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical design and architecture for implantable medical devices, including low‑power, high‑reliability systems.
  • Design and analyze low‑power analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits for implantable pulse generators, including:
    • Power management and battery interfaces.
    • Stimulation output stages and sensing front ends.
    • Telemetry and communication interfaces.
  • Develop schematics, PCB layouts (in collaboration with layout engineers), and electrical design documentation.
  • Perform circuit analysis, simulation, and design trade studies to optimize performance, power, and reliability.
  • Support firmware and systems teams with hardware/firmware integration.
  • Define and support electrical verification, validation, and characterization testing.
  • Collaborate with test engineers to develop automated test equipment (ATE) and production test strategies.
  • Conduct design reviews, risk analysis (DFMEA), and design failure investigation.
  • Support reliability testing, accelerated life testing, and environmental stress testing.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and regulations (ISO, FDA, IEC) as applicable.
  • Generate and maintain controlled design documentation to support regulatory submissions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the electrical discipline.
Must Have
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (STEM required).
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience specifically in medical device R&D, significant in implantable or active medical devices.
  • Strong experience with low‑power electronics, battery‑powered systems, and ultra‑low leakage design.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCD design tools.
  • Experience bringing complex hardware from concept through design verification.
  • Deep understanding of design controls, risk management, and regulated development processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis skills.
  • Clear technical communication and documentation skills.
Good To Have
  • Experience with implantable device applications such as neurostimulation, cardiac rhythm management, drug delivery, or implantable sensors.
  • Working familiarity with designing stimulation, sensing, or bio‑potential front‑end circuits.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC, ESD, and signal integrity in implantable or medical environments.
  • Experience with hermetic packaging, feedthroughs, and implantable interconnects.
  • Familiarity with wireless or telemetry systems used in implantable devices.
  • Ability to support manufacturing transfers and sustaining engineering.
  • Previous experience contributing to FDA submissions and technical sections of regulatory filings.

Competitive salary range between $107,500 and $135,000 based on qualifications and relevant experience.
