About Us

For over three decades, Cirtec Medical has been a leading outsourcing partner for complex medical devices. We specialize in providing comprehensive solutions for Class II and III devices, from design and development to precision components and finished device assembly. Our expertise spans neuromodulation, implantable drug delivery, cardiac rhythm management, structural heart, mechanical circulatory support, and minimally invasive surgical systems.

Position Summary

The Sr. Test Engineer is responsible for the design, development, integration, and deployment of automated test solutions for implantable medical device systems and subsystems. Technologies may include analog, digital, signal processing, and RF. You’ll create test solutions using automated software controls with automated reporting and corresponding user interfaces. You will envision the test solution fixtures, adaptors, interconnect cabling, site power and environmental needs as well as meeting production needs such as takt time.

Our team is involved in early phases of product development from concept through design/development into production and program sustainment. We often work side-by-side with our customers to create test solutions for their products. This is a hands‑on technical role with increasing ownership of subsystem‑level test solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop test hardware and software solutions from requirements definition through build and integration processes, followed by deployment to manufacturing or customer facilities
  • Develop test solutions and architecture using your skills in RF, analog, digital, communications methods, instrumentation control, operator ergonomics, production‑line needs, mechanical systems, power systems, environmental systems, and fluid control systems
  • Schedule development and tracking for program planning/execution, while tracking any deviations from plan to actual
  • Prepare and clearly present your work product at project status meetings internally and with the customer
  • Understand and responsibility to meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments
  • Develop proposals for new tester solutions including initial architecture, schedule, budget, and FTEs based on customer‑provided requirements
  • Collaborate with design team to ensure product design for testability
  • Provide SME input to technical user documentation and provide on‑site training to final operators
Must Have
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering design and development, related to test equipment development efforts
  • Experience working in the engineering laboratory and transitioning automated solutions to production environments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, decision‑making and problem‑solving skills, working individual tasks as well as within a team environment, and technical writing skills (MS Word, MX Excel, MS Visio)
  • Experience with digital, RF, power supply test hardware and software design
  • Knowledge of computer architecture, instrumentation equipment, PCs, UPS, thermal chambers, interconnects/interfaces and standard communication protocols
  • Proven skills in software development and integration using tools including NI Test Stand, LabVIEW, C#, and Python
  • Ability to function autonomously with limited supervision, as an individual contributor, within a multi‑functional team environment
Good To Have
  • Medical device experience preferred
  • Contract Medical Device experience preferred
  • Understanding of engineering processes: CMMI, and 6‑Sigma
