Finance Manager – R&D

Finance Manager Corporate Staff Services – R&D, partnering closely with R&D and product teams to provide financial planning, analysis, and governance for New Product Introductions (NPI).

• Partner with R&D teams and senior leaders to develop financial plans for new product initiatives
• Own the financial metrics associated with new product introductions
• Create analytics to support decision‑making on new product introduction processes and generate improvements
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning for R&D and NPI programs
• Build and manage financial models, including business cases, ROI, NPV
• Support stage‑gate reviews with clear financial recommendations at key decision points
• Track and analyze project spend versus budget, identifying risks and opportunities
• Drive process improvements in financial planning, reporting, and investment governance
• Approve capital investments impacting R&D

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (completed and verified prior to start)
• Nine (9) years of FP&A or corporate finance experience in a private, public, government or military environment

• Experience supporting R&D, product development, or engineering teams
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non‑finance partners
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with planning tools
• MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus

• Location:
  
  On‑site at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN, at least four days a week

Travel may include up to 5% domestic/international. Relocation is not authorized.

Expected compensation range: $188,251 – $230,084, including base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
