Overview
The City of Brooklyn Park is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. A firefighter performs hazardous firefighting and rescue tasks under arduous conditions, which require strenuous exertion under Immediate Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) conditions.
Responsibilities- Engage in firefighting and rescue operations under IDLH conditions, including removing persons from danger and administering emergency medical treatment to ill and injured individuals.
- Perform routine duties at a fire station, including cleaning, maintaining, repairing property and equipment, and participating in training and fire prevention activities.
- Be assigned to secondary duties which may require special abilities and knowledge gained through experience and training.
- Prioritize building positive relationships through public education, community engagement, and outreach efforts.
- Host a diverse range of public education events to engage and educate the population; assist with pre-planning efforts to maintain familiarity with the community.
