Pay range: $69,800.00 – $. Pay is based on factors such as labor market, education, work experience, and certifications.
Position OverviewAs a Cybersecurity Analyst – CSIRT, you will lead the detection and assessment of cyber security events and incidents across the Target environment. You will collaborate with a team of skilled analysts, provide continuous improvement to monitoring, detection, and mitigation capabilities, and support the 24x7 Cyber Fusion Center (CFC) operations.
Core Responsibilities- Detect and assess cyber security events and incidents across the Target environment.
- Implement new processes and procedures to improve monitoring, detection, and mitigation capabilities.
- Monitor SIEM and logging environments for security events and alerts.
- Maintain awareness of the global threat landscape in collaboration with the Target Cyber Threat Intel team.
- Triage service requests from customers and internal teams and escalated incidents according to Target’s Cyber Security Incident Response Plan.
- Assist with containment of threats and remediation of the environment during or after an incident.
- Participate in Cyber Hunt activities under the direction of Target Incident Commanders.
- Document event analysis and write comprehensive incident investigation reports.
- Four‑year degree or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or Cyber Security Incident Response Team.
- Security certification (e.g., Security+, GCIA, GCIH, CISSP).
- Experience managing cases with enterprise SOAR, SIEM, and/or Incident Management systems.
- Experience supporting network and host investigations.
- Strong analytical expertise, attention to detail, critical thinking, logic, and adaptive learning.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of fundamental security and network concepts (Operating systems, intrusion/detection, TCP/IP, ports, etc.).
- Willingness to work in a team‑oriented environment.
- Experience with host and network‑based security tools preferred.
- Experience with network monitoring in a SOC environment preferred.
- Shift 1: 05:30 – 15:30 CT, Sunday to Wednesday.
- Shift 3: 05:30 – 15:30 CT, Tuesday to Friday.
This role operates as a Hybrid/Flex arrangement. The core responsibilities require both onsite work at the Target HQ in Minnesota and virtual work, depending on daily tasks and team requirements. Work duties must be performed within the United States unless otherwise authorized.
