Position Summary
To manage warehouse and transportation operations as an operator and loadmaster. Keep dock areas organized with dispatch, load all outbound routes efficiently, assist with cooler, freezer, and dry storage organization, monitor outbound product quality, and provide support to the DC team as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities- Pick up donations from donors and verify accurate receipt before signing documents.
- Load and unload truck cargo safely and on schedule.
- Maintain positive employee relations with internal and external customers.
- Perform warehouse duties such as filling orders and general warehouse maintenance.
- Support additional tasks as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the food bank.
- Adhere to safety regulations, including OSHA and company-specific guidelines.
- Handle food safely and complete required food safety training within the first 6 months.
- Maintain Food Safety Certification.
- Inspect donated products following food safety guidelines and refuse poor-quality donations.
- Coordinate with dispatch on equipment needs for pending deliveries.
- Organize and load outbound freight for transfer and routes.
- Provide reliable customer service to the transportation department.
- Respond promptly to internal and external customer needs, or notify the manager if unable to do so.
- Act as an outstanding role model for program and company staff in customer service.
- Maintain positive relationships with donors, agency partners, program, and SHH staff.
- Notify manager of any issues or problems in a timely manner.
- Participate in all staff meetings and training.

- All relevant experience, including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience, will be considered.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to perform moderate physical labor.
- Food handling experience preferred.
- Ability to learn computerized data input technology.
- Ability and desire to work with individuals of all backgrounds.
- Adaptability to varied work requirements.
- Cooperative teamwork with staff and volunteers.
- Tact and diplomacy in dealing with customers and donors.
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- Follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
- Must pass commercial driver’s physical and participate in random drug screening tests per state and federal regulations and company policies.
- Ability to obtain a safe food handling license (employer‑paid training).
The role requires frequent lifting (up to 30 lbs), carrying, stooping, walking, and manual handling of equipment. Employees will also perform repetitive tasks and work in a warehouse environment that may include vibration, wet/humid conditions, and sharp tools.
