The Facilities & Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all company facilities, production equipment, support infrastructure and building systems. This includes flexographic, offset, and digital presses, finishing equipment, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems. The Facilities & Maintenance Manager will lead a team of maintenance technicians, develop preventive maintenance programs, and coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless facility operations.

The Facilities & Maintenance Manager also oversees physical building security systems and the supervision of contracted security personnel to ensure a safe, secure, and compliant work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Management
  • Oversee daily maintenance operations, including print production equipment, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and building systems.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign preventive maintenance and repair work for technicians and contractors.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with service contracts and safety standards.
  • Monitor maintenance budgets and control costs related to equipment, supplies, and utilities.
  • Oversee all physical building security operations, including access control systems, surveillance cameras, alarms, and perimeter security.
  • Supervise and manage contracted security personnel, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and compliance with company policies.
Process Improvement
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements when appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain maintenance performance metrics (MTTR, MTBF, etc.).
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement facility efficiency and energy conservation initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve physical security procedures and protocols in accordance with customer requirements.
Training
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff in safety, troubleshooting, and equipment operation.
  • Ensure all team members are trained, certified, and/or compliant with company and regulatory requirements (i.e. lockout-tag out, hot work, crane/hoist inspection, etc.).
  • Develop cross-training initiatives to improve team flexibility and coverage.
  • Ensure personnel are properly trained on site-specific procedures, emergency response protocols, and company expectations.
Communication/Teamwork
  • Collaborate closely with production, safety, and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance needs and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate across departments to support new equipment installations, layout changes, and capital improvement project.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (moderate to advanced level).
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferred.
  • Knowledge of physical security systems including access control, CCTV, alarm monitoring, and visitor management systems.
  • Read and understand drawings, schematics and equipment / technical manuals and documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of print production equipment (flexo/offset/digital presses, die cutters, etc.).
  • Understanding of building systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, and compressed air.
  • Ability to lead maintenance teams and manage multiple priorities under production deadlines.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Two- or four-year college degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
  • Prior hands‑on experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance in a print production environment preferred.
  • Five years of experience in a maintenance management or supervisory role.
