VP of Procurement

Schedule: Full-time, on-site |
Compensation: $110,000 to $135,000

A company that plays an essential role in America's food distribution system is seeking a VP of Procurement to lead its purchasing function. This role oversees vendor negotiations, staff leadership, and inventory strategy to support corporate profitability and service goals within a safe, inclusive, and rewards-driven work environment.

• Manage all aspects of product procurement, including program negotiation with manufacturers
• Hire, train, coach, and counsel staff members, and handle performance management and problem resolution
• Achieve corporate goals established by senior management
• Ensure corporate profitability related to vendor bill-back and inbound freight programs
• Develop and execute annual marketing programs
• Manage inventory levels to enhance the company's financial position and negotiate with vendors for the best price and program
• Dispose of proprietary inventory from lost customers
• Manage inventory dollar levels to optimize cash flow and service level
• Interact with customers and vendors to ensure timely, accurate responses to inquiries
• Maintain fill-rate service levels in line with company standards
• Establish procedures to increase purchasing department efficiency and productivity
• Improve purchasing strategies and processes based on knowledge of the food distribution industry
• Maintain a thorough understanding of and continued development in the food service industry
• May be responsible for managing the marketing/merchandising function
• Function as a team member within the department and organization, performing other duties as assigned

• Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
• 6-7+ years in procurement or a related area with supervisory experience

• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years in procurement with supervisory/management experience in the food service industry

• Compensation range: $110,000 to $135,000
