We are seeking a detail-oriented Spot Welder Set Up Oprator to join our metal fabrication team. Unlike MIG or TIG welding, this role focuses on Resistance Spot Welding
, using electrical current and pressure to join small precision components. This position is ideal for someone with a background in metal fabrication who enjoys hands-on, repetitive technical work, has a keen eye for structural integrity, and has set up experience.

- Thurs 6am-4:30pm

$24 - $27/hr DOE (Brooklyn Park, MN)

• Precision Joining: Operate spot welding machinery to fuse small metal parts using electrical resistance and pneumatic pressure.
• Component Handling: Accurately position and jig small-to-medium metal components for consistent weld placement.
• Quality Validation: Conduct visual inspections and manual break tests or peel tests to ensure weld strength and penetration meet specifications.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic tip cleaning and alignment (dressing the electrodes) to maintain high-quality conductivity.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all fabrication shop safety protocols, including the use of specialized eye protection and heat-resistant PPE.

• Experience: Previous experience in metal fabrication or a machine shop environment is required.
• Set up experience is required
• Technical Skill: Basic understanding of metal properties and how heat/pressure affects different gauges of steel or aluminum.
• Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle small parts with precision and maintain high output throughout a shift.
• Medical vs. Fabrication: While medical assembly experience is valued, we are specifically looking for candidates comfortable with the heavier, industrial nature of metalwork.
• Reliability: A strong track record of punctuality and a focus on production deadlines.
• Specialized Skill Building: Gain expertise in resistance welding, a critical process in automotive and industrial manufacturing.
