Schedule:
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 2:00 PM-12:30 AM
- Weekend Shift: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 AM-6:30 PM

Looking for Punch Press Setup Operator jobs in Brooklyn Park where dependable work keeps production moving? This opportunity lets you operate manufacturing equipment, monitor product quality, and help produce consistent results in a safe, fast-paced production environment.
As a Punch Press Setup Operator, you’ll set up and operate metal stamping equipment while ensuring quality, safety, and production standards are met. You’ll work with progressive dies, stage tooling, and coil handling equipment, perform first and last piece inspections, troubleshoot tooling issues, and support production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.
- 2+ years of punch press setup experience with progressive and/or stage tooling
- Experience operating punch presses ranging from 45 to 400 tons
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
- Blueprint reading, troubleshooting, and quality inspection experience preferred
- Set up and operate punch presses and tooling systems
- Install and adjust safety devices and machine safeguards
- Troubleshoot progressive dies, stage tooling, and temporary tooling
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
- Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools
- Complete production documentation accurately
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and machine upkeep
- Train production operators on proper procedures and safety practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.
- Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
- Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Punch Press Setup Operator.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
