Role Overview :The Sales Agronomist is responsible for driving sales growth by providing technical agronomic support, dealer education, customer training, and field research. This role partners with Regional Sales Managers, District Sales Managers, dealers, and growers to position value-added crop nutrition programs through science-based recommendations and practical field experience. As the technical resource for the region, the Sales Agronomist helps customers maximize crop performance while supporting sales initiatives through education, demonstrations, and data-driven recommendations.
The position also supports brand loyalty, research efforts, and the successful implementation of the Nachurs product portfolio.
- Develop and oversee research and field trial programs
- Assist in the agronomic training and development of other Nachurs personnel
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, producer organizations, research institutions, and extension agencies
- Provide diagnostic and troubleshooting support related to Nachurs products
- Partner with sales personnel on direct farm visits to growers to promote products, generate interest, and build customer loyalty
- Participate in grower meetings, customer events, and trade shows as required
- Support activities designed to strengthen awareness of and loyalty to the Nachurs brand
- Provide technical agronomic expertise, dealer education, customer training, and field research support
- Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers, District Sales Managers, dealers, and growers to position value-added crop nutrition programs
- Deliver science-based recommendations and practical field insights that help customers maximize crop performance
- Support sales initiatives through demonstrations, education programs, and data-driven agronomic recommendations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 3-7 years of agronomic, retail, crop consulting, or related agricultural experience
- Strong knowledge of corn, soybean, small grains, and high-value crop production systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel 40-60%, including overnight travel
- Valid driver's license
- Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) certification preferred
- Experience with liquid fertilizer systems and in-season fertility programs preferred
- Experience supporting agricultural retailers and sales teams preferred
- Experience conducting field research and demonstration trials preferred
- Precision agriculture experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related field
- Ability to leverage agronomic data, field trial results, and precision agriculture technologies to support data-driven recommendations and decision-making
- Proficiency with digital collaboration, communication, and customer relationship management tools to support dealer, grower, and sales team engagement
- Comfort adopting emerging technologies, including AI-powered productivity tools, automation solutions, and digital platforms that improve efficiency and customer support
- You are a strong communicator with excellent verbal, written, and multi-channel communication skills, including phone, email, and text
- You have the ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with customers, peers, management, and support resources while demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and customer service
- You have strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments simultaneously
- You can influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders without formal authority
- You're positive, energetic, and motivated to support both internal and external customers
- You enjoy challenging the status quo and developing solutions that drive continuous improvement

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $104,900 - $146,920. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
