Equipment Service Technician - Metro Minneapolis

Job Overview

This position provides repair service of equipment in the practitioner’s office under the direction of a Lead Technician or Project Coordinator. Work closely with experienced technicians and a supervisor to develop and improve customer service skills, use provided support tools, learn effective troubleshooting techniques, and increase product knowledge. Drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention, and increases profitability.

• Provide repair services to customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• May also provide basic installation services to customers as needed.
• Maintain and have readily available the necessary tools of the trade to perform installation and repair services.
• Complete all on‑site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks under the supervision of a Lead Technician or Project Coordinator.
• Follow proper troubleshooting steps to diagnose errors on technical problems and determine proper solutions.
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations to optimize the customer experience.
• Maintain and manage proper levels of inventory in the vehicle.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports.
• Attend all required training, including Henry Schein Dental Career Development training and specific manufacturer technical training.
• Comply with all OSHA regulations as outlined in the OSHA manual and training.
• Maintain and utilize personal protective equipment when needed.
• Communicate in a timely manner with all Team Members and HUB dispatchers, keeping all informed of progress of assignments.
• Complete all work orders in a timely manner. Review the work order with the customer or a responsible staff member prior to departure, including time in the office, work performed, parts replaced, and parts to be ordered.
• Close all work orders daily and submit them for billing.
• Submit all job‑related paperwork within the required time frames, including FDA Forms, expense reports, and any other required paperwork.
• Comply with all terms of the Fleet Management Policy, including maintenance and accident management policies.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

Typically 2 or more years of field service experience with demonstrated proficiency, basic mechanical background, and customer service background.

Typically high‑school education, vocational training, and/or on‑the‑job training. Associate’s degree or Technical School Certification is preferred.

Working knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical and electrical systems.

The Equipment Service Technician (EST) position requires delivery, installation, and repair of equipment involving Henry Schein customers. Technicians will be expected to maneuver large equipment as needed. The physical nature of the position may require substantial and/or repetitive bending, stopping, lifting and climbing of ladders.
