Field Service Technician - Fargo, ND; on-site

Position Overview

WE ARE HIRING A FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN IN FARGO, ND. The Field Service Technician will provide support to customers, delivering all services and offerings under Entrust contracts, including preventative and emergency maintenance. The role involves ensuring equipment at customer sites is in proper working order.

• Perform high quality preventative and emergency maintenance on Entrust equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve issues on systems including mechanical embossers, thermal image application and laminating, magstripe and chip data writing, ultraviolet curing.
• Clean rollers, sensors, cavities; calibrate sensors, data read/write devices, application pressure; evaluate/replace parts for wear or misalignment (servo, stepper motors, spindles, clutches, belts, bearings, etc.).
• Evaluate/replace temperature, proximity, position sensors.
• Adjust software for temperature and hardware positioning.
• Use repair and service manuals to troubleshoot card printer systems.
• Utilize test equipment such as voltmeter, laptop, and hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches).
• Maintain accurate inventory levels using ERP platform.
• Follow established processes for service activity reporting and call management.
• Accept, organize, and respond to service calls using dispatch system.
• Drive to customer sites daily to provide service and maintenance.
• Interact with customer operations staff, maintain reliability, timeliness, and a positive attitude.
• Resolve most situations independently, continuously improving customer relations and adapting to customer culture.
• Participate in company-sponsored personal development and quality initiatives.
• Complete required training and development courses.
• Assist less experienced personnel with difficult repair problems.
• Share ideas and suggestions for process improvement.

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years electromechanical technician experience.
• Proficient problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient with PC’s, current operating systems and relevant software applications.
• Willingness and ability to drive to several customer sites daily, work flexible hours, shifts, and be on-call.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical duties (sitting, bending, stooping, walking).
• Valid and active driver’s license and insurability as applicable.
• Overtime as required.
• Preferred:
  Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field, additional electromechanical technician or field service experience, proficiency in electro‑mechanics, digital electronics and software required for Entrust and 3rd‑party products, skilled with tools and electronic test equipment.

Compensation range: $21.60–$33.95 per hour (starting base pay) depending on location, skills and experience.
