Position: Field Service Technician - Sign On Bonus!

Summary

We are looking to hire an experienced field service technician to look after the service and support needs of our customers. As a field service technician, you will be required to travel to client locations, install new equipment, respond to service requests, troubleshoot equipment issues, and provide technical training on use and maintenance of company equipment. To ensure success you should have excellent troubleshooting skills, plenty of field experience, and the ability to adapt to a changing work schedule.

Ultimately, a top-level field service technician efficiently manages all aspects of the job including, but not limited to, over the phone support, field service calls, equipment installation, and bench repairs while maintaining high-quality service work for any job size.

Key Responsibilities Service Support
  • Travel for field service, sales support and installation work.
  • Provide technical phone support to customers including extended hours of support.
  • Perform in‑house repair of industrial ink‑jet printing, marking, and coding equipment.
  • Provide professional customer service.
  • Access bills of material and drawings to support repair efforts.
  • Document work performed, time and parts used to complete duties. May access computerized returned‑goods system to enter updates or obtain information.
  • Advise supervisor or other departments of unusual damage or failures that may have been caused by Squid design, assembly or shipping efforts.
  • Recommend changes to design, assembly or packaging procedures to improve product serviceability, performance or durability.
  • Adhere to department policies for warranty and service repairs.
Miscellaneous
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels by following inventory processing procedures.
  • Work safely. Maintain safe, clean and organized work area.
  • Train coworkers as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2‑5 years related experience.
  • Intermediate understanding of electronics and PC networking.
  • Strong electro‑mechanical aptitude with good trouble‑shouting skills.
  • Ability to provide professional customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must have a valid Class D driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel 25‑30% of the time.
Desired Requirements
  • Associates degree in a technical specialty.
  • Previous experience servicing electro‑mechanical products.
