Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize software solutions tailored for Loyalty Earnings.
- Develop keen insight into the technical architecture and design to deliver robust and scalable software components.
- Collaborate with product owners and other cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver high‑quality software that meets the evolving needs of our business and guests.
- Contribute to research and proof‑of‑concept; assist with code review, writing, organizing and maintaining code based on designs.
- Participate in structured construction, automation, debugging, and implementation activities, ensuring architectural and operational requirements and best practices are met.
- Resolve frequently encountered technical issues and monitor systems capacity with minimal assistance.
- Engage in design and architecture learning and participate in ceremonies that can influence both.
- Directly impact guests’ experience and contribute to overall success of loyalty initiatives.
- 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Working knowledge on package‑specific configuration and deployment with ability to build custom solutions.
- Designs new testing methods and resolves routine and non‑routine technical issues with minimal assistance.
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in core development platforms within own domain.
- Builds strong commitment within the team to support the appropriate team priorities.
- Clearly communicates Agile concepts to partners within product team.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of the impact of own work on the team and/or guests.
- Writes and organizes code using multiple languages, including distributed programming and understanding of different frameworks and paradigms.
- Delivers high‑performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure deliverables with broad impact (high throughput and low latency).
- Influences and applies data standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise.
- Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self‑directed education.
- CICD:
Code pipelines utilizing Vela, Docker, containerized integration tests. - Languages and frameworks like Kotlin, Java, REST, Gradle.
- Databases like Postgre
SQL, Cassandra. - Distributed event streaming platforms like Kafka.
- Metrics tooling like Grafana and Influx
DB. - Log aggregation with tooling similar to Logstash and Kibana.
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. The core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
