Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join its Finance team and play a critical role in managing, analyzing, and improving product and inventory costing within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for product costing, variance analysis, work order costing, and inventory valuation accuracy while partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams.

Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review month-end journal entries related to all cost transactions.
- Reconcile inventory balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules.
- Maintain and analyze product costing, including labor, overhead, and machine rates.
- Analyze manufacturing variances, including material, labor, overhead, purchase price, and production variances, propose solutions.
- Ensure accurate work and production costing.
- Monitor inventory valuation, WIP, and manufacturing absorption accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Serve as a key finance resource for costing, inventory, and production processes within the organization's ERP system.
- Review cost structures, inventory transactions, and financial postings to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure manufacturing costs are accurately reflected in financial reporting.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Three or more years of cost accounting experience within a construction/manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, and inventory accounting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including analysis of large datasets and account reconciliations.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills with experience supporting audits and financial reviews.
- Ability to challenge data, identify trends, and drive corrective action.
