Accounting Manager

Senior Grant Accountant (Temp-To-Perm) | Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid)

Ascendo Resources is partnering with a respected nonprofit organization in Brooklyn seeking a Senior Grant Accountant to join its finance team.

Compensation

• Pay Rate: $48-$55/hour
• Salary:
  Up to $100,000 upon conversion
• Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with annual audits
• Oversee grant accounting, billing, compliance, budget-to-actual analysis, and revenue recognition
• Partner with leadership to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting

Requirements

• Nonprofit accounting experience required
• Grant accounting and grants management experience
• Strong GL accounting and reconciliation skills
• Experience preparing audit schedules
• Ability to work independently and manage the close process
