Salary: $120,000–$150,000+ (Depending on Experience)
Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to serve as a financial leader responsible for overseeing the accounting operations and financial performance of an assigned portfolio. This role will serve as the primary financial point of contact for clients, overseeing reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, audits, and day-to-day accounting operations.
The ideal candidate is a strong accounting professional with leadership experience who can manage teams, analyze financial performance, improve processes, and build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. This is an opportunity for a hands-on financial leader who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with client service and strategic financial guidance.
Responsibilities:- Serve as the primary financial contact for assigned client portfolios, providing leadership and oversight across all financial activities.
- Oversee accounting, accounts payable, and treasury functions to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
- Review and approve monthly financial statements, reporting packages, and other financial deliverables.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Prepare and review budget-to-actual reporting, variance analysis, cash projections, and financial forecasts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by serving as a trusted financial advisor.
- Communicate financial performance, challenges, and opportunities clearly with clients and leadership.
- Coordinate with internal teams and service lines to ensure seamless delivery of accounting services.
- Provide proactive updates and recommendations regarding financial activity, expenses, collections, and operational performance.
- Lead, mentor, and support accounting, AP, and treasury team members.
- Monitor team performance, workload allocation, and key performance indicators.
- Conduct regular check-ins, provide feedback, and support employee growth and development.
- Lead team meetings to align priorities, address challenges, and improve performance.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls.
- Implement systems and procedures that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Support technology initiatives and process automation within finance operations.
- Manage multiple priorities while ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong background in accounting and financial operations.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
- Experience overseeing accounting teams and managing financial operations.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, accounts payable, cash management, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial analysis and reporting.
- Experience working with accounting systems and learning new technologies quickly.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide recommendations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
