Tax Accountant – Public Accounting & Bookkeeping | Brooklyn, NY

A well-established accounting firm serving small businesses across a variety of industries is looking to add an experienced tax and accounting professional to its growing team. This is a hands-on role managing a dedicated roster of individual and corporate clients, with support from a junior staff member and oversight from senior reviewers. It's a great opportunity for someone who wants to combine tax and bookkeeping work in a collaborative, in-office environment.

Tax Preparation & Compliance

• Prepare individual and corporate tax returns for an assigned client roster
• Work within a multi-level review process before final sign-off

Bookkeeping & Client Management

• Perform ongoing bookkeeping and write-up work for small business clients
• Manage day-to-day client communication and documentation needs

Team Collaboration

• Partner with and provide guidance to a junior team member handling clerical support tasks
• Coordinate with reviewers and senior staff on client files

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of tax preparation experience
• Public accounting background with exposure to both tax and bookkeeping/write-up work
• Comfortable managing or guiding a junior team member
• Degree preferred but not required for the right candidate
• Available for full-time, in-office work
