About This Opportunity:

ABB is recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join our Procurement team. We welcome applications from all talented individuals, and we actively encourage applications from persons with disabilities. Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms. Each day, you will ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team.

The work model for the role is: onsite This role is contributing to the Procurement function/Service division in Egypt. You will be mainly accountable for:

• Initiating Purchase Orders in the system, according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures, and confirming delivery with suppliers, monitoring, and tracking supplier performance to PO requirements.
• Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists and terms and conditions.
• Recommending frame agreements to management and executing upon approval.
• Analyzing and evaluating bids to determine the optimal value.

Qualifications for the role:

• You are highly skilled in end-to-end foreign procurement processes and have a deep understanding of the Egyptian import market.
• Ability to demonstrate your experience in 2 to 5 years of foreign procurement, specifically managing international suppliers and logistics.
• Highly adept in SAP ERP for Purchase Order (PO) creation and management, and advanced Microsoft Excel for maintaining precise tracking and follow-up sheets.
• You are passionate about proactive stakeholder management and possess the resilience to handle high-pressure environments and the urgency of internal stakeholder demands.
• Degree in / Have a demonstrated track record in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, which will be considered a significant advantage for understanding technical specifications and requirements.
• Possess extensive knowledge of Egyptian customs clearance procedures, shipping Incoterms, and the documentation required for international trade.
• You are at ease communicating in English, with a proven ability to coordinate effectively with foreign-based suppliers.
• You demonstrate unwavering ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring that every procurement transaction is transparent and compliant with both local laws and ABB policies.
• You are committed to objective decision-making, you manage supplier relationships with total fairness, avoiding any conflicts of interest while protecting the company's reputation.
• You are a trusted representative of the team, you maintain high levels of confidentiality and honesty when handling sensitive commercial data.
