This position is 100% Out In The Field, in the 5-borough area of NY. There will be some paperwork that will be done at home, but the majority of the work is all done out in THE FIELD

Overview:

Our client is looking for Field Construction Inspectors to oversee construction work in the 5 boroughs of New York City.
The scope will include overseeing infrastructure repair and construction activities, documenting personnel and payment quantities and communicating directly with the Con Edison construction managers.

Role:

The Construction Inspectors will be working side-by-side our clients' client, who has contractors that will be doing the construction work under direct contract with the client.
That work will consist of repairs to existing subsurface utilities and infrastructure (need to have experience with public streets including trenching, shoring, utility repair, etc.).
Given that the client’s contractors perform the construction work under established unit rates, it will be the responsibility of the Construction Inspectors to document payment quantities for the client such as number of personnel, excavation volumes, material quantities, etc.
The client will use this documentation to justify payment of the contractor's invoices. The Construction Inspectors are to act as the clients "eyes and ears" on the project and to communicate directly to the client regarding work progress.
The client’s construction managers will periodically visit the project sites within the 5 boroughs of NYC.

Requirements:

3-5 years of exp. (not much more)
Must have your own vehicle (no public transportation allowed)
Must live in the NYC area
Construction experience w/in NYC area is highly preferred (but not required)
Need prior construction experience with public streets including trenching, shoring, utility repair, etc.

Hazwoper certified is a plus
30-hour OSHA Construction certified is a plus
The client is looking for an inspector with a technical degree and construction management experience.
