Traveling Commercial Pool Foreman
A well-established commercial construction organization is seeking an experienced Traveling Commercial Pool Foreman to lead field operations on commercial swimming pool construction projects throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Ohio.
This is a hands-on working foreman position for an experienced commercial pool construction professional who can lead a crew, coordinate daily site activities, maintain quality and production standards, and still be willing to pick up a shovel, operate equipment, assist with installation, and jump in wherever the project needs help.
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of commercial swimming pool construction experience, understands the various phases and sequencing of commercial pool construction, and has demonstrated the ability to lead crews and keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
This position requires significant overnight travel throughout the five-state territory. Candidates must be comfortable being away from home for extended periods and working a Monday–Friday schedule at project locations. Overnight travel is an essential part of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise field crews performing commercial swimming pool construction.
- Serve as the primary field leader and hands-on working foreman on assigned projects.
- Direct daily field activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and daily production activities.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, layouts, and project plans.
- Assist with and oversee site layout, excavation, grading, back filling, site preparation, and related sitework.
- Oversee and participate in commercial pool construction activities including pool plumbing and piping, forming, reinforcing steel/rebar, concrete-related work, equipment installation, and other applicable phases of construction.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Identify field issues and develop practical solutions to keep projects progressing.
- Communicate regularly with Project Managers and company leadership regarding progress, manpower, materials, schedules, and potential problems.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades working on or around the project.
- Maintain an organized, productive, clean, and professional jobsite.
- Monitor project schedules and daily production goals.
- Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, time records, production information, and project documentation.
- Conduct and participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and jobsite safety inspections.
- Enforce company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Train, mentor, and develop less-experienced crew members.
- Work alongside the crew and perform physical construction tasks when necessary to keep the project moving.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial swimming pool construction experience.
- Previous experience as a Commercial Pool Foreman, Foreman, Lead Foreman, Lead Installer, Superintendent, or similar field leadership position.
- Strong understanding of commercial swimming pool construction methods, sequencing, and field operations.
- Working knowledge of multiple phases of pool construction, including pool plumbing/piping, concrete, forming, reinforcing steel, excavation/sitework, and equipment installation.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, layouts, and project drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop field crews.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and jobsite procedures.
- Strong field problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and company leadership.
- Ability and willingness to perform hands-on construction work as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding construction activities.
