Print Production Assistant

Our client is hiring a Print Production Assistant with a minimum of 3 years in a professional print or sign environment is needed to support digital file prep, large-format printing, and physical sign fabrication and installation. Work includes posters, floor graphics, dimensional lettering, event displays, and similar projects, often on tight turnaround, in collaboration with internal teams and clients.

Location: Greenpoint, Brooklyn
In office 4 days a week, 1 day remote
Rate: $25-30/hr
Duration: February - May 2026

Main Duties

• Digital & Print Production

• Prepare artwork for output using RIP software (e.g., ONYX, Versa Works) and Adobe tools.

• Check files for size, resolution, bleeds, and color accuracy before printing.

• Handle a wide range of file types (e.g., AI, PSD, INDD, PDF, raster and vector formats).

• Apply sound typography and font handling in layouts for large-format work.

• Shop Fabrication & Install

• Cut, weed, trim, and assemble graphics and signage using hand and power tools.

• Work with substrates such as vinyl, acrylic, metal, wood, and foam board, choosing suitable methods for cutting and mounting.

• Produce and mount dimensional letters and graphics with accurate placement and secure fastening.

• Operate equipment such as large-format printers, CNC router, vinyl plotter, laminator, and related machinery.

• Assist with on-site installs for interior and exterior signage, focusing on durability and safety

• Client Interaction & Project Coordination

• Handle a high volume of phone, email, and in-person requests in a fast-moving environment.

• Advise clients on appropriate materials, sizes, quantities, and production approaches.

• Evaluate schedules and help determine whether deadlines can be met; suggest alternatives when needed.

• Incorporate revisions and feedback to fine-tune artwork and finished pieces.

• Prepare estimates for both small and large jobs and support pricing decisions.

• Production Workflow

• Translate design files into practical production steps for printing, routing, and vinyl work.

• Review and adjust proofs to ensure correct color, content, and finishing before final run.

• Support all stages of the workflow from digital print through to final fabrication.

Required Background

• At least 3 years of experience in a sign or print production setting.

• Clear, professional communication skills with customers, teammates, and vendors.

• Strong eye for detail, quality, and design; solutions-oriented mindset.

• Comfort working both independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
