Overview

Location: MADE Fort Greene Facility - Brooklyn, NY

Reports To: General Manager / Assistant General Managers

Schedule: ~30 hours per week (including mornings, evenings, and weekends)

The Front Desk Associate is the first point of contact for everyone entering the gym facility and plays a key role in setting the tone for the space. This position is essential to creating a welcoming environment, delivering an excellent member experience, and keeping daily operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Member & Guest Experience
    • Greet all members, guests, athletes, and visitors in a professional, friendly, and confident manner.
    • Check in members and participants using the scheduling and booking system.
    • Answer basic questions about programs, schedules, pricing, and facility policies.
    • Ensure guests and participants are directed to the correct areas of the facility.
  • Sales & Transactions
    • Process point-of-sale transactions for day passes, sessions, merchandise, and concessions.
    • Accurately handle cash, card, and digital payments.
    • Maintain organized and presentable retail and concession areas.
    • Flag low inventory or issues to management.
  • Facility Support & Cleanliness
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of front desk, lounge, bathrooms, and common areas throughout shifts.
    • Re-stock supplies as needed (towels, water, paper goods, retail items, etc.).
    • Perform routine walkthroughs to ensure the space is safe, clean, and welcoming.
  • Operational & Event Support
    • Assist with setup and breakdown for events, camps, leagues, and rentals.
    • Support coaches, trainers, and managers with basic operational needs.
    • Communicate issues, incidents, or member feedback to management in real time.
  • Administrative & Team Support
    • Follow opening and closing procedures when scheduled.
    • Adhere to all facility policies, safety guidelines, and customer service standards.
    • Represent the brand positively at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, athletic environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Basic comfort with POS systems and technology (training provided).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and be active for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move light equipment when needed.
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Prior front desk, retail, hospitality, or fitness facility experience.
  • Interest in sports, basketball, or community-based programming.
