Founded by tabletop director Steve Giralt, The Garage has always lived at the intersection of cinematic craft and technical experimentation. We specialize in physical image-making, high-end visual storytelling, and pushing what’s possible through tools like robotics, virtual production, high-speed photography, and emerging creative workflows.

The industry is changing rapidly. AI is reshaping content. Timelines are compressing. “Good enough” visuals are everywhere. The traditional production model is being challenged from every direction.

We’re not here to chase volume or sameness. We’re here to help brands evolve, innovate, and create images that feel real, refined, and unforgettable.

That’s why we’re building new models like the Garage Creators Residency, an always-on creative engine designed for brands that want to stay ahead, not just keep up.

The Garage operates out of a 10,000 sq ft facility in Brooklyn’s Industry City, with an elite in-house team, five directors, a full-time special effects department, motion control robotics, a Virtual Production LED Wall, a commercial kitchen, and deep fabrication capabilities.

WHO YOU ARE

As Director of Business Development and New Business, you will be a driving force in shaping the next chapter of The Garage.

You are not just selling production. You are building relationships, opening doors, and helping brands understand what the future of content and commercial storytelling can look like.

You are deeply experienced in the industry, highly credible in conversations with agencies and brands, and excited by innovation. You understand that the landscape is shifting fast, and you want to be part of the team paving a new road forward.

You are energized by outreach, relationship-building, and long-term partnership models. You are not afraid of change, and you are absolutely not afraid to use AI and modern tools to work smarter, move faster, and stay ahead in your sales pipeline.

This hybrid role offers flexibility, with regular in-person collaboration at our Brooklyn studio.

YOUR RESPONSABILITIES

  • Drive new business growth through proactive outreach, relationship-building, and strategic pipeline development
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with brands, agencies, and creative partners
  • Help shape longer-term partnership models, including retainer-style relationships and innovation-driven engagements
  • Represent The Garage’s creative and technical capabilities with clarity and conviction
  • Stay ahead of industry shifts, emerging platforms, and evolving brand needs
  • Use AI and modern sales tools to identify leads, streamline communication, and increase efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with our production and creative teams to ensure an exceptional client experience
  • Identify new verticals and opportunities that align with where the industry is going, not where it’s been

YOU HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience in business development or new business sales (advertising/production strongly preferred)
  • A proven track record of bringing in meaningful new client relationships and large accounts
  • Deep familiarity with commercial production and the creative ecosystem around it
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a natural ability to connect with people
  • A forward-looking mindset and real awareness of where the industry is headed
  • Comfort using AI and emerging tools as part of a modern sales and outreach workflow
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and modern communication platforms
