Field Architect For Nyc School Inspections
Our NYC office is urgently looking for a New York State registered architect who is interested in working as a Field Architect for the inspections of NY City schools. The selected candidate will be working in a team of four, comprising two Architects (licensed and in-training), one Electrical Engineer, and one Mechanical Engineer, conducting visual inspections of New York City public schools in both Brooklyn and Queens.
There will be a 3-week training to catch the architect up to speed with the project's specific methodology and processes; after the first three weeks, the architect will then be scheduled to inspect school buildings with his/her team. The team will be using in-house-developed software on iPads to generate inspection reports.
Responsibilities:
- Visual inspections of school buildings, building components and systems, and building structure, using proprietary mobile applications (on company-provided iPad);
- Generating daily reports of school building conditions;
- Obtaining building data pertaining to completed improvements and upgrades from school staff (custodial engineers and principals);
- Denoting locations of building deficiencies on building diagrams (plan and elevation);
- Confirming accurate building size and damage quantities;
- Arriving at scheduled school buildings at 8:30am every morning, rain or shine.
Job Requirements:
- Required Experience Requirements and
Qualifications: - Ability to use company-provided iPad and application to complete inspection;
- Knowledge of architectural components, including: building exterior (envelope), structure, roofing and drainage, and familiarity with ADA guidelines;
- Licensed R.A. in New York State with a minimum experience of 5 years.

- Strong organizational skills with ability to demonstrate attention to detail;
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, challenging, schedule dependent environment;
