Cataract Surgeon​/Comprehensive Ophthalmologist

Downtown Eyecare is seeking a full-time anterior segment surgeon to join our growing practice. Glaucoma training is a bonus, but not mandatory.

The practice offers the opportunity to do 20-30 cataract surgeries per month. In addition, our patient population includes a high volume of glaucoma and diabetic patients. Therefore, comfort with MIGS and anti-VEGF injections is very helpful. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated young surgeon. Our patient population has a high percentage of pathology.

We have two beautiful modern offices fully equipped with Zeiss HVF and OCT, Ellex Tango Lasers, ARGOS ascan, etc. One is located in Downtown Brooklyn (a 10 minute commute from Manhattan). The second location which is brand new (buildout completed in Summer of 2024) is located near Prospect Park, Brooklyn.

The team currently consists of 2 ophthalmologists (1 comprehensive ophthalmologist, 1 retina specialist and 2 optometrists).

The practice is an externship site for the SUNY College of Optometry and sponsors 2-3 students per month, passing through their fourth-year clinical rotations.

The position available would include a combination of clinic and OR days. The OR days would come with block time in the morning at an ASC in Brooklyn.

We have a well-established referral base and a strong reputation for patient care.

Compensation will include a base salary plus incentives.

The practice has two of the most convenient locations for public transportation in all of NYC.
