The Berkeley Carroll School is a Pre-K through grade 12 college-preparatory school of almost 1,000 students located in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn in New York City. The Berkeley Carroll Upper School Computer Science Department is dedicated to teaching every Upper School student the fundamentals of computer programming and to providing a pathway for interested students to build on that knowledge in advanced classes across a range of topics in the field. Berkeley Carroll is seeking a computer science teacher to teach a foundational 9th grade programming course, a more advanced 10th grade course focusing on object-oriented programming, and several higher level computer science electives for 11th and 12th graders.
They will also work with other members of the department to develop new courses, ideally in their own areas of interest and expertise.
Strong candidates will also have an interest in being active members of our school community, including involvement in student life: as a grade advisor, leader of a student club, advisor to a publication, or the coach of a team.
Qualifications- BA in Computer Science or related field
- Experience teaching computer science to high school students (preferred)
- Knowledge of higher level computer science concepts to be taught in elective courses. Past course topics include game design, algorithmic problem solving, and machine learning.

Salary and benefits are highly competitive and will be offered commensurate with experience and credentials. The annual salary range for this full time position is 75K-115K.
