Middle School Science and Math Teacher (Fall 2026)

The Senesh School, a progressive, independent K-8 Jewish day school in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, is hiring a middle school science and math teacher to join our 2026-27 faculty.

Successful candidates will be dynamic, innovative, nurturing, and reflective educators that possess a growth mindset. Responsibilities include teaching 5th grade science, middle school STEM electives, and providing math support and enrichment. The annual salary range is $75-$85,000 commensurate with experience. Responsibilities
  • Creating a warm, creative, and supportive classroom environment
  • Teaching the 5th grade science curriculum
  • Designing and leading STEM electives and enrichment
  • Providing math support and enrichment
  • Collaborating with faculty at the department, grade-level, and divisional levels
  • Partnering with the student support team to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of curriculum and student progress
  • Building effective partnerships with parents
  • Serving as a middle school advisor
  • Attending a weekly faculty meeting, department meeting, and other professional development opportunities
Qualifications and Dispositions
  • MA degree in education or a related field
  • Three or more years of middle school lead teaching experience
  • Expertise in curriculum development and instructional design
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in STEM education
  • Collaborative, collegial, and team-oriented
  • Commitment to a “whole child” approach supporting academic, social, and emotional growth
  • Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to diversity, equity, and belonging
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
