Overview

Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Physics. Appointment at the Associate Professor level will be considered for the qualified candidate

Responsibilities

* Teaching:
Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture), required;
General Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture); advanced courses within the candidate's area of expertise.

* Advisement:
Undergraduate student academic advisement

* Service:
As required to further the Mission regarding the Department, University, and Community, including but not limited to textbook selection, course and lab design, committee work.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

* Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry required.

* Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry required.

* Proven (peer-reviewed publication, presentations, etc.) track record of research involving undergraduate students is required.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

* Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues required.

* Familiarity in online learning platforms including Banner, Canvas, Blackboard, & Adobe Connect required

* Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) required

* Familiarity with chemical laboratory safety issues

* Ability to design and implement novel teaching lab modalities

* Ability to set up and maintain a research program involving undergraduate students.

Travel

* The position is located mainly at our Brooklyn campus. Occasional teaching at our other undergraduate campuses in the New York are is expected.

Maximum Salary

USD $78,883.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $63,106.00/Yr.
