Position Overview:
Special Education Liaison
Northside Charter High School is seeking a dedicated, organized, and flexible Special Education Liaison to support our growing school. The ideal candidate will be mission-driven, deeply committed to the academic and socio-emotional success of all students, and experienced in special education services and compliance. This role reports directly to the Chief Student Services Officer (CSSO) and is integral in leading and maintaining compliant, equitable, and high-impact special education programs.
Key Responsibilities
Special Education Services
* Lead and implement an equitable and compliant special education program
* Oversee the implementation of Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS)
* Analyze academic data to drive a proactive RTI (Response to Intervention) process
* Serve as the liaison to CSE #8 District 14 and related service providers
* Assign and manage caseworkers/case managers for IEP oversight
* Maintain compliance and communication for IEPs and 504 plans
* Coordinate evaluation schedules and student support plans (IEPs, BIPs, etc.)
* Collaborate with testing coordinators, school operations, and finance team to align services with compliance and reporting needs
Student Culture & Support
* Model strong relationships with students and families
* Support Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavioral interventions with Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP)
* Monitor and evaluate school culture data to improve outcomes
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree required in Special Education and Special Education Certification required
* Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably in a diverse educational environment
* Experience supporting students with IEP and 504 plans
* Exceptional organizational and communication skills
* Strong collaboration and relationship-building abilities
* Leadership qualifications such as an SBL, SDL or similar certifications
