** POSITION DETAILS
** Few institutions carry a name with as much moral weight as Medgar Evers College. Named for the slain civil rights leader who gave his life in service to justice, the College was established with a clear charge: open the doors of higher education to those who had too long been shut out. That founding charge has never been set aside.
It shapes how the College teaches, who it serves, and what it believes education is ultimately for. Located in Central Brooklyn, Medgar Evers College is a four-year senior college within The City University of New York (CUNY), offering baccalaureate and associate degree programs across the liberal arts and sciences, business, education, and health professions. The student body reflects the community - predominantly Black and Caribbean American, largely first-generation, and deeply motivated.
Medgar Evers College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and is recognized for its work in community engagement, civic leadership, and producing graduates who make meaningful contributions to their professions and communities. Medgar Evers College is a place where purpose meets possibility - where faculty, staff, and students together advance a mission rooted in social justice.
