Assistant Professor - Health Sciences
** FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
** New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college located in downtown Brooklyn, offering associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Health Sciences at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin Fall 2026. The Department of Health Sciences offers three degrees: an AS in Health Sciences, a BS in Health Services Administration and a BS in Healthcare Policy and Management.

The curriculum covers health safety, health dynamics, health policy and management principles, health law and compliance, health care financing and accounting, health management and information systems, health research methods, and medical metrics. In addition to teaching, both in-person and online, the Assistant Professor will participate in program and curriculum development and assessment, as well as department, college, university, and community projects.

Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Health Sciences, the Assistant Professor will be expected to teach courses in the diverse offerings of the Health Sciences Department, engage in productive scholarship, and provide service to the department, college, and university. Faculty members are also expected to develop and maintain relationships with professional organizations in their discipline and attend regional and national/international professional and educational conferences.

Other duties include, but are not limited to: + Preparing quality course material for class sessions, including instructional lectures, laboratory lesson plans, and effective assessment methods designed to meet course objectives and student learning outcomes + Evaluating and offering feedback on student projects + Preparing students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and lifelong learners before entering the healthcare profession + Contributions to the departmental self-study as required by Middle States Accreditation + Service to the College through participation in activities, projects and committee assignments within the university, college and community groups, School of Professional Studies, and the Health Science department
** QUALIFICATIONS
* * Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
** PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** + Doctorate in Public Health, Health Care Policy Management, Health Service Administration, or related fields + A minimum of five years of post-master's employment in the health care industry + Prior teaching experience in a diverse, multicultural setting + Evidence of scholarship, such as peer-reviewed publications or peer-reviewed conference presentations + Background in a higher education environment, preferably in instruction or training + Proficiency with common higher education technological platforms and applications, e.g., Microsoft Office 365, Learning Management Systems (Brightspace, Blackboard), AI tools (Chat GPT, Gemini, etc.)

+ Demonstrated ability to seek and secure grant funding
** COMPENSATION** $76,937 to $94,909. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
* Salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
