LEAP is seeking a Program Coordinator who will play a critical role in overseeing an arts integrated, after school program in a New York City public school. He or she will be highly organized, self-motivated, and a creative problem-solver that will ensure quality program execution. The program coordinator will ensure quality arts-based programs through the management of program planning, lesson planning, and fidelity to the LEAP instructional model.
Observation of group leaders, activity specialists, teaching artists, etc. as well as providing thoughtful constructive feedback is a critical aspect of the role. An arts educator and administrator, the program coordinator reports to the Portfolio Manager, collaborates with school leadership (Principals, APs, etc.), and receives support from other educational and administrative staff at LEAP. A successful coordinator will have the ability to effectively manage their time and work collaboratively to achieve LEAP's mission and values.
- Safety:
Ensure the safety and security of each participant by ensuring programs operate in compliance with all applicable LEAP, and New York State School Age Child Care protocols and procedures. - Stakeholder Management:
Work cooperatively with school leadership (Principals, APs, etc.) and LEAP staff/departments (Managing Director, Program Ops Team, Finance Team, etc.) to assess school needs, evaluate budget, plan programming, share evaluation tools, and oversee quality delivery - Staffing/ Youth Participation:
Recruitment & train program staff in a variety of youth and professional development areas;
Coordinate and following up on participant outreach, enrollment and attendance to meet programmatic goals and stakeholder benchmarks;
Oversee staff scheduling, timesheets & coordination - Events:
Plan, organize, and produce LEAP, DYCD and school partnership events evidencing high quality arts-based programming. - Programmatic Oversight/ LEAP Partner Agency Requirements:
Monitoring, evaluating, and managing all aspects of a program to ensure its quality, effectiveness, and alignment with stated goals;
Ensure all funder and regulatory agency data requirements are met and submitted in a timely manner, - Budget Adherence:
Ensure and track that the budget and expenses are aligned and maintained within the organizational financial guidelines, including staffing, supplies, and other expenses. - Internal Support:
Attend all staff meetings, professional development opportunities, training sessions, & special events to enhance knowledge & skills, as required, inclusive of those outside program hours - Data Collection & Reporting:
Tracking attendance, event participation, surveys, and other organizational data asks, supporting the generation of reports to assess the program's effectiveness
We seek a strong, organized leader who is a self-starter, can lead the day-to-day operations of the program, manage staff, and serve as a site leader in planning, implementation, and problem-solving.

Understanding of child development principles & best practices; experience working with school-aged children in a recreational or educational setting - Adaptability & Technology Skills: Ability to adjust teaching methods based on student needs; being adept at various software applications such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, online meeting platforms, & other after school program software
