Brooklyn Public Library's Enhanced Young Adult Learning Program (EYALP)

Brooklyn Public Library's Enhanced Young Adult Learning Program (EYALP) is designed especially for young adults ages 17 to 24 who would like to complete their high school equivalency and move ahead into higher education, job training, and the workplace of their dreams. Our goal is to apply a primary-person approach in helping achievers plan for their career and learning goals. The mission of EYALP is to partner with young adults to cultivate literacy and numeracy foundations, move toward high school equivalency, and contextualize learning in growth industries—ranging from construction to entrepreneurship—to propel EYALP achievers toward satisfying and successful careers.

The EYALP is seeking a part-time Program Associate to provide administrative, recruitment, and community engagement support. The Program Associate works under the supervision of the Enhanced Young Adult Literacy Program Coordinator and performs general administrative functions for the program.

The Program Associate will be responsible for recruitment for our newly added NFTE entrepreneurship training combined with the current GED program, as well as registration of young adults at various sites. The Program Associate will help ensure participants are knowledgeable about free programs and resources that can alleviate barriers to completing their educational goals.

Additionally, this role will participate in and support various community engagement projects for young adults, helping to expand program visibility, strengthen partnerships, and promote civic involvement.

We are seeking someone passionate about making a difference in the community by supporting young adults to reach their fullest potential.

This is a part-time position. The salary for this position is $25/hr for up to a 19-hour workweek. This is a grant-funded position. Renewal is based on performance and funding availability through January 1, 2027.
