Senior Product Manager - Personal Banking
Yassir is the leading super app in the Maghreb region, set to change the way daily services are provided. It currently operates across Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa and Senegal. It is backed by ~$200M in funding from VCs across Silicon Valley, Europe and other parts of the world.
We offer on-demand services such as ride-hailing and last-mile delivery. Building on this infrastructure, we are now introducing financial services to help our users pay, save and borrow digitally — helping usher the continent into a digital economy era. We're not just about serving people; we're about creating a marketplace that brings people what they need while infusing social values.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the Personal Banking experience — our consumer wallet and the financial products that sit inside the Yassir super app. This is a B2C role at the centre of our financial services strategy.
Your core mandate is adoption: getting millions of Yassir users to fund, hold, and transact with the wallet — first inside the super app (rides, deliveries, top-ups), and then beyond it (peer-to-peer transfers, bill payments, merchant payments in the real world). You will own the full consumer journey from first wallet activation to habitual, everyday use.
You will work across engineering, design, growth, and the wider super app teams to make the wallet the default way Yassir users move money — turning an existing, trusted user base into active financial services customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the personal banking / consumer wallet product end-to-end, with adoption and active usage as your primary success metrics.
- Define and execute the strategy to drive wallet activation, funding, and repeat transactions — both within the super app (rides, deliveries) and in external use cases (P2P, bill payments, merchant payments).
- Design acquisition and activation funnels in partnership with growth and marketing; identify and remove the friction points that stop users from funding and using the wallet.
- Deeply understand the Algerian consumer — cash habits, trust barriers, and the behavioural shifts required to move people from cash to digital money.
- Run discovery: customer interviews, journey mapping, prototyping, and experiments to validate what will actually drive adoption at scale.
- Translate customer insights into a prioritised roadmap of features and experiments, tested with real users in market.
- Partner with engineering and design to ship high-quality consumer experiences — onboarding, KYC, top-up, send/receive, and transaction history — that feel effortless and trustworthy.
- Leverage Yassir's existing super app surfaces (ride-hailing, delivery, agent network) as distribution channels for wallet adoption.
- Instrument the product with analytics; use funnel data, cohort retention, and transaction behaviour to make evidence-based decisions.
- Synthesise business, market, and customer needs into strategic, evidence-based recommendations for leadership.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies and keep the squad delivering against roadmap and quality goals.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of product management experience, with a strong track record in B2C fintech, digital banking, wallets, or payments.
- Proven experience driving consumer adoption and engagement of a financial product — you have moved activation, retention, or transaction metrics, not just shipped features.
- A track record of launching and scaling consumer-facing digital products (B2C).
- Strong grasp of acquisition, activation, retention, referral, and revenue — and how to design a product that grows across that funnel.
- Experience with growth mechanics: onboarding optimisation, funnel analysis, experimentation, and retention loops.
- Understanding of the technical aspects of digital product development, with the ability to work closely with engineers and get the best out of them.
- Ability to create and run a customer discovery process — interviews, journey mapping, and ideation workshops — to surface real user pains and opportunities.
- Strong understanding of value proposition design and what makes a consumer product succeed.
