Math Instructor
Our client, an educational organization dedicated to empowering young adults through comprehensive learning and career development, is seeking a Math Instructor to join their team. As a Math Instructor, you will be part of the Brooklyn-based Job Corps Program supporting aspiring students. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Location:
Brooklyn, NY
Pay Range: $28 - $30 per hour
Shift: 7:30AM - 4:30PM, Monday through Friday
Duration:
Temporary
- Develop and enhance math curriculum materials, lesson plans, and activities aligned with educational standards and participant needs.
- Deliver engaging and interactive math lessons using diverse teaching methodologies to accommodate various learning styles.
- Help participants understand fundamental math concepts, from basic arithmetic to advanced algebra and geometry.
- Create assessments, quizzes, and exams to evaluate understanding, providing timely feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages respectful behavior, participation, and collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience teaching math at various levels, with a solid foundation in core math subjects.
- New York State Teaching Certification in Mathematics (grades 7-12).
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, motivating environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
