Job Description
This Civil Engineer role supports complex infrastructure projects for a major transit authority, with a focus on coordinating design, field operations, and project stakeholders. You will manage critical project documentation, perform site visits and field inspections, and help ensure that construction activities comply with agency standards, safety requirements, and project specifications. Responsibilities
+ Support civil engineering efforts for transit-related infrastructure work, ensuring seamless coordination between design teams, field operations, and project stakeholders.
+ Manage and maintain project documentation for the transit authority, including reports, logs, and deliverables, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and compliant with agency standards.
+ Utilize project management software to track project progress, submissions, requests for information (RFIs), and key project milestones.
+ Conduct site visits and field inspections in Brooklyn, NY to verify construction activities, monitor progress, and identify potential issues.
+ Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and client representatives to resolve field and design-related concerns in a timely and professional manner.
+ Assist with preparing and processing submittals, daily reports, photo documentation, and tracking logs required by the transit authority.
+ Participate in project meetings and provide clear updates on project status, risks, and action items.
+ Ensure adherence to safety protocols, site-specific requirements, and applicable regulatory standards during all project activities.
+ Collaborate closely with a small team of engineers to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions that meet client expectations and agency requirements.
Essential Skills
+ Civil engineering experience supporting infrastructure projects.
+ At least 2+ years of experience supporting transit authority projects in New York City.
+ Hands-on experience with MTA documentation, including reports, logs, submittals, and tracking requirements.
+ Proficiency with project management software to track progress, submissions, RFIs, and milestones.
+ OSHA 30 certification.
+ MTA Track Safety Training Certification.
+ Experience using AutoCAD for civil engineering and infrastructure-related work.
+ Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, inspectors, and client representatives.
+ Strong attention to detail in managing documentation and ensuring compliance with agency standards.
+ Capability to perform site visits and field inspections and to identify and communicate potential issues.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
