Salary: $175,000 - $200,000 DOE

Engineering Firm is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Designer/Drafter for Designing of HVAC systems for Residential buildings, Hotels, Condominiums, Restaurants. Responsibilities including working from conception/Schematic to Construction Documents.

• Review and analyze facilities requiring HVAC system installation or replacement/upgrade, calculate cooling loads and select appropriate HVAC equipment. Design, specify and requisition appropriate equipment. Make recommendations to award vendor contracts.
• Complete AutoCAD MEP drawings for production and installation.
• Assisting in preparation of specifications, to Equipment selections, laying out of mechanical rooms and floor plans.
• Sizing mechanical equipment for proper pressure loss to allow for efficient system operation and energy conservation.
• Create HVAC systems to accommodate new or existing building conditions.
• Address DOB and Loft board comments.
• File Cross connections with DEP.
• Perform heat loss calculations.
• Coordinate trades with in house architecture team.
• Perform site visits and surveys of exiting building conditions.
• Coordinate mechanical design drawings with other building trades.
• Layout equipment and ductwork for HVAC systems based on engineer design.
