Government Affairs Associate

BRIC seeks a full-time Government Affairs Associate to serve as a key member of the Development team. Reporting to the Vice President of Government & External Affairs, this role supports BRIC's government fundraising efforts by assisting with government grant applications, grant reporting, budget management, Salesforce CRM data management, data analysis and reporting, and post-award government contract administration and compliance.
The Government and External Affairs Associate will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their supervisor, the Vice President of Government & External Affairs:
- Support the administration of BRIC's government grants and contracts from application through award, contract execution, reimbursement, compliance, and final reporting across federal, state, and local agencies.
- Review government contracts and summarize funding requirements; coordinate with Finance, Communications, Operations, and Program staff to ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, and manage the activation of contractual obligations.
- Track government grants, contracts, awards, payments, deliverables, and reporting deadlines while maintaining accurate reports, records, calendars, and compliance documentation.
- Maintain organizational profiles and compliance filings in government funding systems and databases, including PASSPort, Grants Gateway, SFS, SAM.gov, and other required platforms.
- Monitor city, state, and federal funding opportunities, legislative activity, budget hearings, public policy developments, and agency announcements relevant to BRIC, and alert regarding any and all new funding opportunities.
- Draft briefing materials, testimony, talking points, reports, presentations, and other written materials for internal and external audiences, as it relates to BRIC's Government and External Affairs activities, brand, and communities.
- Coordinate and manage meetings, communications, and relationship management with elected officials, government agencies, community boards, and external partners.
- Support and coordinate government relations, advocacy campaigns, legislative visits, civic engagement initiatives, public events, and elected official participation in BRIC programs.
- Collaborate with and across BRIC Arts Media, especially Programming, Communications, Development, Finance, and Operations to collect data, develop impact reports, track organizational metrics, and support cross-departmental initiatives, as well as inform BRIC community as to updates and happenings.
- Represent BRIC and the best of BRIC's impact work at meetings, hearings, conferences, and community events as assigned.
- Maintain, update and grow the government affairs databases, contact lists, correspondence, award tracking, acknowledgments, and event invitation lists.
- Provide necessary and vital administrative and project management support to the Vice President of Government & External Affairs, including coordinating civic and government media projects and programming and performing other related duties as assigned.
- Engage with and support the Chief Revenue Officer and BRIC's Executive Team as needed and as directed
