We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to join a multidisciplinary clinical team providing addiction treatment services to adolescents and adults. In this role, Primary Therapists work under the supervision of the Clinical Director to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care in individual, group, and family settings.
The ideal candidate is clinically strong, client-centered, and committed to supporting individuals and families on their path to recovery. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively within a supportive treatment environment while making a meaningful impact in behavioral health and addiction recovery.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Services & Counseling
- Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions for clients seeking recovery from addictive disorders and for their family members
- Provide therapeutic interventions using evidence‑based practices and recovery‑oriented approaches
Assessment & Treatment Planning
- Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for incoming clients
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical needs and client goals
- Monitor, assess, and document client progress throughout treatment
Collaboration & Supervision
- Attend required clinical meetings, supervision sessions, and case conferences
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure coordinated and effective care
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensure documentation meets agency, state, and ethical requirements
Additional Duties
- Perform other clinical or administrative duties as assigned
Education & Certification
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling preferred - Certified CASAC and/or New York State license in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling (or limited permit) required
- Credentialing in Gambling Disorder Treatment (CPGC, CASAC-G, or QPGP), or eligibility, is a plus
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience providing counseling in addiction treatment and behavioral health settings
- Experience facilitating psychoeducation and process groups preferred
- Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Therapies, Person‑Centered Treatment, and other evidence‑based practices for addiction treatment
- Familiarity with recovery models such as 12‑Step programs or SMART Recovery
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
